भारत में लंबे वक्त से शिक्षा में निजी क्षेत्र की भागीदारी बढ़ रही है, यहां तक कि कई मायनों में भारत के शिक्षा क्षेत्र को शिक्षा उद्योग भी कहा जा सकता है। इस शिक्षा उद्योग में एक बड़ा हिस्सा कोचिंग उद्योग का है। देश के तमाम छोटे-बड़े शहरों, कस्बों में तरह-तरह के कोचिंग संस्थान चल रहे हैं, जो आईआईटी, मेडिकल में प्रवेश के अलावा संघ लोक सेवा आयोग की प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं और अन्य प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं के लिए कोचिंग करते हैं। टेक्नो पैक के आंकड़ों के अनुसार, देश में निजी कोचिंग क्षेत्र वर्तमान में 51,712 करोड़ रुपए का उद्योग है, जो 2008 में 11, 721 करोड़ रुपए का था। राजस्थान का कोटा शहर तो कोचिंग के लिए ही जाना जाता है। कोचिंग उद्योग की पूंजी अरबों रुपए में पहुंच गई है और कोचिंग संस्थानों के बड़े-बड़े विज्ञापन देखकर यह अंदाज लगाया जा सकता है कि मार्केटिंग में कितना पैसा खर्च करने की इस उद्योग की क्षमता है। टेक्नो पैक के मुताबिक, कोटा में तकरीबन 1,50,000 छात्र 100 निजी कोचिंग सेंटरों में दूर-दराज से पढ़ने और रहने आते हैं।
इंजीनियरिंग, मेडिकल और मैनेजमेंट प्रवेश परीक्षा की तैयारी के लिए कोचिंग संस्थानों में करीब 40 लाख छात्र-छात्राएं पढ़ रहे हैं और करीब 20,000 शिक्षक उन्हें प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं के लिए तैयार करने में जुटे हैं। निजी कोचिंग सेंटर उद्योग की बात करें तो सिर्फ इंजीनियरिंग परीक्षा की तैयारी का बाजार 20,685 करोड़ रुपए का है। मेडिकल परीक्षा की तैयारी का बाजार 13,790 करोड़ रुपए का है और मैनेजमेंट परीक्षा की तैयारी का बाजार 1,034 करोड़ रुपए का है।
निजी कोचिंग सेंटर के अलावा इन दिनों ऑनलाइन कोचिंग का भी कारोबार बढ़ रहा है। यहां तक कि छोटे शहरों और ग्रामीण इलाकों में भी कोचिंग सेंटर को ऑनलाइन शिक्षा एग्रीगेटर्स से चुनौतियों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है, जहां इंटरनेट की पहुंच तेजी से बढ़ रही है। ग्रेड अप नामक एक शिक्षा प्रौद्योगिकी मंच द्वारा 10,000 छात्रों के बीच कराए गए एक सर्वेक्षण में पाया गया कि 90 फीसदी छात्रों ने प्रवेश परीक्षाओं के लिए ऑनलाइन लर्निंग को प्राथमिकता दी। एक और रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, 2016 में ऑनलाइन लर्निंग को चुनने वाले छात्रों की संख्या 16 लाख थी जो 2021 तक बढ़कर 96 लाख तक पहुंच जाएगी। यही वजह है कि कई बड़ी निजी कोचिंग फर्मों ने ऑनलाइन डोमेन में कारोबार शुरू किया है। शिक्षा से जुड़े जानकारों का मानना है कि भारतीय स्कूली शिक्षा प्रणाली छात्रों की जरूरतों के लिहाज से पुरानी पड़ गई है और यही कोचिंग उद्योग के उभार का प्रमुख कारण है। एशियन डेवलपमेंट बैंक की एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, देश के सरकारी स्कूल बहुत से मापदंडों पर पिछड़े हुए हैं। उपरोक्त के प्रकाश और संदर्भ में, हमारा प्रयास विशेष रूप से कोचिंग संस्थानों के लिए डिज़ाइन सभी आवश्यक डिजिटल इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर के साथ एक डिजिटल स्थान सभी कोचिंग संस्थानों को अपना कोचिंग सेंटर चलाने के लिए प्रदान करने का है।

In India, the private sector participation is increasing in education for a long time, even in many ways India's education sector can also be called Education Industry. According to techno-pack data, private coaching sector in the country is currently an industry of INR 51,712 crore, which was INR 11,712 crore in 2008. Kota city of Rajasthan is known only for coaching. The coaching industry has reached billions of rupees and seeing large advertisements of coaching institutions can be assumed that this industry has the potential to spend money in marketing. According to the Techno Pack, about 1,50,000 students in Kota come in 100 private coaching centers from far off and read.

Talking about the private coaching center industry, the only engineering test preparation market is worth INR 20,685 crore. The market for medical examination preparation is INR 13,790 crores and the market for the management examination preparation is INR 1,034 crores.
In addition to the private coaching center these days, the business of online coaching is also increasing. Even in small towns and rural areas, the coaching center is facing challenges from online education aggregators, where internet access is increasing rapidly. A survey conducted among 10,000 students by Grade Up called 10,000 students found that 90 per cent students preferred online learning for entrance examinations. According to another report, the number of students choosing online learning in 2016 would be 1.6 million, which will increase to 96 lakh by 2021. This is the reason why many big private coaching firms have started business in the online domain. Experts associated with education believe that Indian school education system has become obsolete in terms of the needs of the students and this is the main reason behind the emergence of coaching industry. According to a report by the Asian Development Bank, the government schools of the country have been backward on many parameters.
